I ask women to talk about their periods all the time.
Here are some of their stories.
“I would recommend this new products to my friends.”
“Sometimes I wad up toilet paper and use it like a tampon.”
“I often don’t have enough pads or tampons to get me through my period. I will use whatever I can find, usually a rag or old shirt, or wadded up paper towels.”
“I like them because their usage is more convenient than regular feminine hygiene products.”
“I had five daughters. Buying all of those pads and tampons was so expensive! I wish I had known about reusable menstrual products during that time. ”
“Not everybody can afford pads and tampons, and what we get in donations is not enough.”
“I grew up in Colombia. Periods were a taboo topic, and my mom didn’t speak with me about the topic. The first time I got my period, I thought I did something wrong, why am I bleeding…When I moved to the United States, I didn’t always have the money to buy pads and tampons. Sometimes I would wait until the last minute, and one time I waited too long. I also think it is important to also teach our boys about the topic. I used to make my son buy me pads, and now he isn’t ashamed when his girlfriend asks him to go out and buy her some.”
“I am all for it! it is easier, more comfortable, cheaper, and i am feeling safer, and like i’m learning more about my body and menstruation and building a better relationship with both.”
